The Police and The Smashing Pumpkins are definitely back and hitting up the V Festival down in my lovely home state of Maryland along with the Beastie Boys on August 4th-5th. Unfortunately, this coincides with the Lollapaloozafestival in Chicago. Seth Hurwitz has high hopes that his festival will be able to attract fans despite the competition: "Given the choice of booking The Police or not we had to go for it. If anything it's probably helped us because we were able to book some bands that were out already for Lolla. Hopefully both festivals will be strong enough that it doesn't matter."
