Heaps of White Stripes News!

Lately this blog has been a little sparse with the news updates...most of which have been centered around the White Stripes. Things have been a bit hectic even though it is summer and this is when things should slow down...right? Apparently not! Anyways...today is exactly a week before the release of 'Icky Thump.' Posters promoting the new album have been shellaced all around the city in preparation making my walks to work highly enjoyable. Then i check in with their website and see this glorious news!

Hello Children,
We have lots of very exciting news for you today. Can’t wait to hear Icky Thump? Well the wait is over, you can hear a stream of the album in it’s entirety starting tomorrow, June 12th, until June 19th by visiting MTV's site. If you live in the UK, don’t forget to pick up the 3 formats of the “Icky Thump” single that were released in stores today (this includes the white etched 7” that is the companion to the red “Rag and Bone” 7” that was released for free on the cover of NME last week).

Heard the stream, now buy the album! The White Stripes web store is now accepting pre-orders for Icky Thump in CD and LP format. For a limited time, orders for the CD will include a free set of 3 button badges. The LP is double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve and is pressed on 180 Gram vinyl and for a limited time will come with a custom peppermint turntable slip mat.

But wait...there's more. We also have a very limited-edition pressing of the “Icky Thump” single on 12-inch 180 gram vinyl with an etching on the B-side. Only 300 were pressed. Limit one per order.

And lastly, Icky Thump is also available in a new format: Jack and Meg USB drives. Custom created for The White Stripes, each 512-megabyte drive contains a copy of their new album in the Apple Lossless Format. There were only 3,333 of each drive created. Visit The White Stripes web store.

Yeah....HIGHLY exciting. Definitely streaming once John in the Morning is done his stellar tuesday morning set.
