Chan Marshall reports from a far...
Seems our lil Cat Power is a bit nervous going about her European Tour. Reports from her shows reveal very little stage banter as well as furtive glances at the audience and rushed sets. Oh Chan! Relax! It is all part of her charm and you realize it within five seconds of seeing her on stage, so petit with that throaty beautiful voice. Yes, yes, we love her very much. Hopefully she is enjoying herself a little bit. "Cat Power performed the last UK gig of her current mini-tour last night (May 1).
Having played as part of the Triptych and All Tomorrow's Parties festivals at the end of last month, the star and her band headed to London. Performing at The Forum in Kentish Town, frontwoman Chan Marshall was joined by backing group the Dirty Delta Blues Band for the sold-out show. Taking to the stage in a sleeveless top and with her hair pulled back into a ponytail that curiously made the singer look uncannily like former Spice Girl Mel C, Marshall barely spoke throughout the show, only once asking for the "hot" lights to be turned down.
Cat Power played:
'Naked''The Greatest''Living Proof''New York''Moon''Makin Believe''Hey Aretha''Don't Explain''Silver Stallions''Empty Shell''Willie''I Lost Someone''Song 2 Bobby''Lord Help''I Been Lovin''Life Of the Party''Could We''(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction'
'Angelitos Negros''Dark End Of Street''Could We/Vamp''Where Is My Love''Lived In Bars''Crazy/Patsy Crazy'
Cat Power is now set to conclude her European dates with a show in Dublin on May 10. (via NME)
