Cloud Cult and Young Galaxy Articles
The New York Times has been writing about some pretty fantastic artists this week, with its sunday edition covering Feist and today's edition covering Sundays' Mercury Lounge show with Cloud Cult and Young Galaxies. My friend who's delighful blog Coachella2007 is definitely worth checking out had already posted her take on the Young Galaxies yesterday. I have only seen Cloud Cult live and highly enjoyed their artfully crafted set. It reminded me of stories of an acclaimed painter, Frenchy who is based out of New Orleans and is famous for attending shows and painting along to the music. Frenchy is one of the many treasures of the fabously rich New Orleans music scene, and i wonder if Cloud Cult was inspired by his love of music combined with painting. Either way it definitely works for them and is a welcomed companion during their live performances. *The Young Galaxy are paired with The Album Leaf for Sunday, May 13th @ Bowery
*Feist in the New Yorker
**As i was writing this article i heard a FANTASTICLY SMASHING MASHUP on KEXP
